Curriculum Overview

The curriculum at Emerald International School is designed to provide holistic education and academic excellence. The curriculum motivates students to become lifelong learners and seek knowledge which is experiential and transformational in nature.The curriculum is regularly updated to stimulate students’ interests and gain the knowledge they need to compete in the fast-changing 21st century global world. Teachers strive to make the classes as interactive as possible and use different methods to get the best out of each student. Collaborative learning is incorporated into lessons so students can share ideas and learn with and from each other.

We encourage our students to think for themselves, ask questions and pursue their interests through independent reading and research.

Early Years – Montessori : Children begin Montessori when they are at their early stage of a student’s life. At EIS education begins at the grass root level. We provide foundation for knowledge enhancement, curiosity to learn and social and emotional development of the child. Montessori is a child’s first engagement at school, hence they are nurtured and trained on key aspects.


Early Years – Kindergarten : Children join Kindergarten a year later. It promotes holistic development of the child in a child centric system. Our Kindergarten focuses on reading, writing and practical activities such as drawing, group activities and interaction as part of the course curriculum. Our programmes are designed to improve the child’s overall development.

Primary School

Primary Years – Grade I to IV : EIS offers an integrated, interdisciplinary curriculum for Primary school. Here the focus is on the student’s developments in the areas of knowledge enhancement, development in the areas of academics, social, fine arts and vocational skills. The representative of each facet consistently thrives through handholding and grooming of the students. A consistent thrust is emphasised by teachers in their progressive growth and training.
In harmony with academics there is also a constant thrust in areas of approach, attitude and action. Simulation of academic concepts is demonstrated through SMART tools and technologies. We strengthen their aptitude in the core studies of English, Mathematics, General Science and Social Science.

Middle School

Middle Years – Grade V to VIII : Middle School students study a curriculum that is broad based with emphasis on the core subjects. Middle School students are ready to tackle deeper and more discreet subjects with an array of specialist teachers, including the challenge of additional languages like the introduced as a third language (French/Hindi/Kannada) along with core subjects of English, Mathematics, Computer Science, Hindi, General Science and Social Studies.General Science becomes more detailed as Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Social Science becomes more specialized as History-Civics and Geography. English, Hindi, Sanskrit and Computer Science continue to be in the programme.
